If you care to know a little about me, I am a web professional residing in Southeast Kansas. After growing up in a small town, I spent time studying electrical engineering in Atlanta, Georgia before coming back to the area and receiving my Bachelor's degree in Communication in 2004.
I am currently serving as webmaster for a regional four year university and am a freelance consultant and designer. I also play Tetris, though not professionally. I have spent the better part of ten years designing web sites. From modest days when Geocities was ad free and there was no such thing as a WYSIWYG, to the current era of... well... whatever you like to call now (I hate the term Web 2.0). I have designed layouts for a number of sites, installed systems for others, consulted with organizations large and small, and worked to help others make their sites reach the full potential possible. My specialty is in the human side of the web, the idea that there is a person on each end of the computer, and a web page is noise in a communication channel that needs to be as low as possible. Web design does not stop at the page.
In the past, I used to serve as a hardware reviewer and writer for the increasingly popular ThinkComputers.org. More recently, because of my experience as a web developer in higher education, I was added as an author over at the educational web tech blog .eduGuru, where my professionally themed blogs will now be diverted so that they may better target their niche.
In my spare time, I enjoy biking, antiques, good fountain pens, theatre, and beef jerky. I have a cat named Isis and a beautiful fiancée. Oh, and I absolutely, positively, do not sing. Well, I do, but I shouldn't. The Navy records my singing to use on prisoners at GTMO.
